Airport Breaks July Record FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Aug. 30, 2007 – It’s another record-breaking month for The Eastern Iowa Airport with more than 95,000 passengers choosing the Corridor’s airport for their travel. Total number of passengers for July was 95,105, an increase of 8.7% over July 2006 with 87,415 passengers. The previous July record was set in 2005 when 90,022 passengers used The Eastern Iowa Airport. This also marks the sixth record-breaking month for the 2007. Airport Director Dan Mann said those record-breaking months are expected to continue and even increase when Allegiant Air’s begins service to its newest destination, Phoenix-Mesa, Arizona. The new flight starts Oct. 25 and will operate every Thursday and Sunday. Response to the new service has been tremendous, Mann said. “Allegiant told us on the first day of ticket sales more than 200 roundtrips were booked,” he said. “We expect that trend to continue and grow. Phoenix is one of this area’s top destinations and now anyone in Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois will have the opportunity to travel non-stop on a low fare.” The Allegiant Phoenix flights will depart Cedar Rapids at 1:40
